Citizens of Ann Arbor at Civil War Announcement

Photo of citizens of Ann Arbor gathered at the Courthouse Square on a Sunday in 1861 hearing the news announcement by Dr. Tappan that the Civil War had commenced. In the background you can see Cook's Hotel and Rowling Saloon.
